Farewell Sen. Seward
A statement by Assemblyman Chris Tague(R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) on Sen. James L. Sewards decision to not seek re-election.
This weekend, our region received word that one of the most beloved, admired and respected public servants we will ever know has decided not to seek another term in the state Senate. Our Senator, James L. Seward, will finish out his current term and then retire to spend more time focusing on his family and health. Sen. Seward touched so many lives in our region. He fought courageously for us, to protect our values and way of life. Measured, thoughtful, and patient would be how many would describe him. For me, it was mentor, confidant and friend. Our region and the state Legislature are better places because of Sen. Seward's service.
I will continue to pray for Sen. Seward, his tremendous wife Cindy and their family as they work through this latest battle. And, just as he always has, Sen. Seward will courageously battle it with poise and strength. God bless our Senator Seward, and thank you and your family for giving back to our community for so many years.
