Tague Introduces Resolution Proclaiming February 2020 as Career and Technical Education Month

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) is proud to announce February 2020 as Career and Technical Education Month. BOCES is an amazing program where students can learn practical skills in high-profile and demanding careers such as health, science, business, sales, finance, information technology, engineering, math, manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, government, law, agriculture, human services, construction, training, and arts, audio/visual technology and communications. Tague is a former BOCES student and immensely proud to help provide opportunities for students to pursue their personal passions.

“BOCES, along with career and technical training, is near and dear to my heart,” Tague said. “Some students fit in well in a classroom setting and others work much better with their hands. We should be providing efficient and well-funded avenues for students of all inclinations to succeed and find fulfilling careers. As a former BOCES student, I encourage everyone to give it a try. See where your passions and talents take you. You never know where you might end up!”

Glades I. Cruz, Ph.D. District Superintendent Questar III said, “It is important to recognize diversity in educational opportunities and the role that CTE plays in preparing our students in multiple pathways for their chosen careers.”
