Tague Calls for More CHIPS Funding

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) attended a rally today at the NYS Capitol to call for a restoration of the Extreme Winter Recovery fund in the budget. Tague also joined his voice with hundreds of CHIPS workers, highway superintendents and other legislators to increase infrastructure funding.

“I was immensely proud to stand with my peers in the Assembly Minority Conference and hundreds of highway workers today. Our upstate roads and bridges are in disrepair. We have some of the absolute best workers in the country ready to modernize and repair our flagging infrastructure. Why don’t we provide them the funding and materials they need so they can do their jobs? Personally, I want to see parity with NYC funding and the investment in downstate infrastructure to the order of $150 million. Upstate deserves its fair share, it’s that simple. It’s also critically essential that the $65 million for Extreme Winter Recovery is restored. Our state is vast and some areas are impacted by our famous weather more than others, we need to look after them. It’s beyond infrastructure here, its public safety.”
