Friend Votes Yes On Actions Taken By Legislature To End Several Of Cuomo’s Orders

Statement from Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats)

“Finally, the Legislature is acting to curtail the governor’s excessive executive orders as I have been arguing for over the past year. Today we’re ending restrictions on healthcare facilities and providers in helping to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to our communities, and we’re ending the requirement of food purchases with alcoholic beverages at restaurants and bars. We also reinstated provisions of the Public Officer’s Law. It’s well past time that the Legislature stepped up as the co-equal branch of government that it is. I continue to encourage my colleagues to roll back the governor’s excessive powers so we can help our state recover from the pandemic.”
