 "People know where I stand on all of this and I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, of my committee members feel the same way. We will do the best we can to take care of our horses and it is true that people spend a lot of money for some of these horses, but they're doing it as a business decision – they're not doing it because they like horses or they love horses," said Assemblymember J. Gray Pretlow during a discussion with Nanci Beyerl, the Executive Director of the Peaceful Acres Horses, at a public hearing to examine the implementation and impact of the state budget on New York's racing and gaming industries and the New York State Gaming Commission.
