Gandolfo, Assembly Minority Propose Inflation Relief Bill, Eliminating State Sales Tax On Everyday Items
January 24, 2022
“Under the Biden Administration and Majority-controlled Congress, we have seen a historic mismanagement of the American economy. As a result, the rate of inflation is the highest it’s been in 35 years and the price of goods has increased substantially, making it harder for the average family to make ends meet. To address this growing problem, I have joined with my colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference to propose the elimination of state sales taxes on everyday items like food, home care items, and fuel. Our proposal will also authorize local governments to eliminate taxes on such items. Bill A.8481 will provide much needed financial relief for New Yorkers.
