Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo (R,C-Sayville) is proud to announce the New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators is accepting applications for four $3,000 scholarships: two academic and two athletic.  

Scholarships are available to all who are current college students or high school seniors entering college. Students can access and complete the application by visiting: https://www.nyiacsl.org/apply-for-scholarship-form. 

The application deadline is Friday, March 15.  

“I’m so glad we as the Conference of Italian American State Legislators are able to once again offer scholarship opportunities to students in New York,” Gandolfo said. “College continues to be a paramount need for success in the 21st century, and as costs continue to rise, more students are at risk of being locked out of these important opportunities. We can’t solve the wider problem of college affordability right now, but I’m proud that we are in a position to help a few more get there.”  

Applicants should have a grade point average of 85 or higher, be active in community service and extracurricular activities and demonstrate financial need. In addition to these qualifications, students applying for an athletic scholarship must also be involved in an organized sport(s).

Applicants are not required to be of Italian descent to apply, and all of the scholarship recipients will be announced in April, with a ceremony in Albany to celebrate the winners soon after.
