Angelino: Committee Meetings Are Meant to be Accessible to The Public

Statement from Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C-Norwich)

“When I was first elected, I always found it strange how locked down our committee meetings were. I feel that the public inherently has a right to access our meetings. They should be able to see what we do and say when reflecting on legislation that impacts them. There should be no hiding. I am glad it’s finally official that committee meetings will be video livestreamed, despite it taking seven years for the Assembly Majority to implement, but it’s the first step of many that New York must take to improve transparency. “
