DeStefano Weighs in on End of Session

A Legislative Statement from Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I,Ref-Medford).

“It’s no surprise that this year’s Legislative Session was chock-full of needless debate. With state Majority in full control, it seemed that their only concern was increasing rights for criminals, prisoners and illegal immigrants. Despite New York leading the nation in the highest taxes, they remained unwilling to take up bills that delivered any tax relief. As families are being taxed out of their homes and businesses are moving elsewhere, the state’s population loss continues to rise. I am disappointed to see that we ended this year’s Legislative Session without any real progress. Despite these drawbacks, I hope to move forward as I have many items on my agenda that I will continue to fight for, including working toward a more affordable New York state.”
