Today, Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I,Ref-Medford) attended the Legislative Disability Awareness Day event in Albany to highlight the many important issues the disability community is advocating for. These issues include increasing funding for direct support professionals, access to housing and ensuring job opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

“This is not a partisan issue. People in the disability community, whether it be individuals with disabilities, caregivers or family members, face unique challenges and deserve to be provided the tools and programs they need,” said DeStefano. “It was an honor to attend today’s event and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals with disabilities and advocates of the disability community. I will continue to be a strong voice for the disability community and work with my colleagues across the aisle to fight for legislation that addresses their needs.”
