DeStefano Reacts to Final Day Of State Of The State
A statement from Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I-Medford)
January 14, 2021
“The governor’s final speech of the State of the State was just a continuation of his own self-promotion. Green energy, arts and infrastructure are all important, but they fail to bring back the sustainable middle-class jobs lost due to the pandemic. These ideas will cost the state a fortune when we just don’t have the money. New York has faced fiscal problems long before the pandemic, but the addition of the governor’s proposals amid a pandemic will just push us further into debt. We need to overcome the pandemic first before we can start to address the governor’s outlandish proposals.”
