DeStefano Declares February As Library Lover’s Month
Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,-C,-I-Medford) is pleased to announce that his Resolution to proclaim the month of February as Library Lover’s Month passed the Assembly yesterday. DeStefano has long been a vocal advocate for libraries and recently highlighted libraries in and around his community.
“Libraries are much more than just books on a shelf, they not only provide opportunities to access the internet, educational programs and other technologies, but also serve as a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” said DeStefano. “Many of these libraries have struggled in the wake of the pandemic. Libraries provide essential services that we are going to need as we recover from the pandemic. Now more than ever we must push to fund libraries and educational programs to improve our communities.”
Last week, DeStefano visited six libraries around the 3rd Assembly District. Each of these libraries was highlighted on Assemblyman DeStefano’s Facebook page beginning on February 6. Check out his page to see the vast benefits these libraries bring to the community.
