DeStefano: Assembly Majority Needs to Stop Covering for Cuomo
A Statement from Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R, C, I-Medford)
March 2, 2021
“In the wake of yet another scandal, Assembly Majority has canceled session to help cover for Gov. Cuomo. Our conference attached an amendment to the bills before the house yesterday that would trigger a vote to revoke the governor’s emergency powers. Rather than face a tough vote that would force them to put accountability over party, the Majority members just didn’t show up. It’s shameful. I can’t imagine how they can be comfortable protecting the unilateral authority of a man who is under investigation by the Department of Justice and the attorney general’s office. That’s not what they were elected to do.” said DeStefano.
