DeStefano Designates March as Music in Our Schools Month
Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I-Medford) is pleased to announce that his Resolution to proclaim the month of March as Music in Our Schools Month passed the Assembly today. DeStefano is a vocal advocate for music educational programs which promote musical talent across New York.
“Music in our schools helps engage our children and teachers in what has been cherished throughout history and enriches all of our lives,” said DeStefano. “In the wake of the pandemic, many relied on music as a source of comfort. Now more than ever, it is imperative that we get our children back in school, playing music and performing concerts.”
Music in Our Schools Month is celebrated during March to encourage music educators, students and communities from around the country to promote the benefits of high-quality music education programs in schools. This year marks the 48th annual celebration of Music in our Schools Month.
