Park South – A Promise Kept

Albany – The Capital Region received a major announcement in regard to the area in Albany known as Park South. Albany Medical Center announced the $110 million Park South Plan for the Future which is a public-private partnership supported by major Capital Region companies. This project will create mixed use residential, retail, medical and green space as well as parking for the two blocks bordered by Myrtle and Dana Avenues and Robin Street and New Scotland Avenue.

β€œThe Park South Project has been a large effort over the last 10 years and will make a dramatic difference in a neighborhood that has steadily declined over the past 30 years. This project is yet another aspect of Mayor Jennings legacy and his leadership and the support of the Common Council are to be commended as this has been a very open and public process. Far too often government promises but does not always deliver however this effort proves that government, working with the private sector, can deliver,” said Assemblymember John T. McDonald III.
