Assemblyman John McGowan (R,C-Rockland) presented the Tappan Free Library with a $20,000 grant as part of the 2023-24 State Budget. This grant is provided directly to school districts or libraries to use for any program or needs that they have to better serve the community.

“It was my honor to present the Tappan Free Library with grant money that will help toward their purchase of a new digital security system,” said McGowan. “The library has a base mission of supporting community literacy and providing lifelong learning opportunities in a safe space with open access. We are proud to be able to assist in those efforts and encourage everyone to visit Tappan Free Library to experience all they have to offer.”
