Jensen: New Yorkers Deserve Openness and Honesty from State Government

A statement from Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C,I-Greece)

“I am saddened and disappointed in the report released today by Attorney General James that New York has underreported COVID-19 nursing home death by as much as 50 percent. The families of loved ones living in long-term care deserve an open, honest accounting from state government about what happened to cause so many deaths in our nursing homes.”

“As a member of the Assembly Health Committee, I look to work with my colleagues to take a comprehensive look at the effects COVID-19 has had on nursing homes, working to ensure that every long-term care facility is taking appropriate and necessary steps to prioritize the health and well-being of their residents and staff and increasing transparency.”
