Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre Calls Minimum Wage Increase for Fast-Food Workers a Positive Start

“The state wage board’s recommendation to raise the minimum wage for fast-food workers to $15 per hour is a positive step. This increase would provide much-needed relief to families across New York State who are working full time, yet remain in poverty.

“While this is a sign of progress, we can’t stop fighting until all workers are paid a livable wage. Earlier this year, I supported a statewide increase in the minimum wage (A.7257) for all industries and I’ll keep working to make that a reality.”
