Walsh Hosts Fourth Annual Blood Drive Event with American Red Cross
Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) partnered with the Red Cross today, Aug. 5, for her fourth annual blood drive at the Ballston Spa Elks Club. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries, and Assemblywoman Walsh is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community’s health and well-being.
“I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who made this event a success, including our generous donors, my colleagues in Ballston Spa, the Red Cross and the Ballston Spa Elks Club for hosting. The brief time it takes to donate has a profound impact on our community. This year, we collected 60 units of blood, which has the potential to save 180 lives,” said Walsh.
“If you missed this event, it’s never too late to donate and make a difference. Look out for future blood drives hosted by my office or click on the American Red Cross Web site to find blood donation locations near you.”
