Walsh Weighs In On Need for Ethics Reform

A statement from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston)

“As we enter the final weeks of this year’s legislative session, the Assembly’s failure to address the issue of ethics reform, and most notably the crucial need for additional transparency and oversight of the funding of state development projects, is worrisome to say the least. The governor’s recent insistence that such reforms would be a detriment to minority and women-owned businesses rings quite hollow given the amount of corruption and illegal activity we have seen throughout these state-funded programs in recent years, which are often executed with a concerning disregard for transparency and accountability. New Yorkers deserve to know exactly how Gov. Cuomo is spending hundreds of millions of their tax dollars, and I call on my legislative colleagues to join me in my commitment to amending this flawed process once and for all.”
