Walsh Attends Eagle Scout Trail Dedication

On Saturday, November 18, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh celebrated the achievements of local Eagle Scout candidate Alex Bianconi at a ceremony dedicating Beaver Dam Trail in Clifton Park. Alex’s project included a comprehensive rehabilitation and extension of the path, and he spent over 100 hours clearing the trail, constructing and installing 170 feet of bridges, and designing and building the new trail kiosk. Additionally, he secured fundraising through the Clifton Park Elks and materials donated through 84 Lumber in Malta, NY. The project was performed in conjunction with Jen Viggiani, Town of Clifton Park Open Space Planner, and formed a loop between Beaver Dam Trail and another existing trail.

“I was so pleased to attend Saturday’s Beaver Dam Trail dedication ceremony, and have the opportunity to celebrate the completion of Alex’s project,” said Walsh. “The skills that the Boy Scouts of America give bright, dedicated young people like Alex are truly invaluable, and thanks to his hard work, I look forward to seeing our local residents enjoy this beautifully renovated trail for many years to come.”
