Ethics Reform Is Necessary To Move Forward
A Statement from Assemblyman Mike Fitzpatrick (R,C,I-Smithtown)
February 10, 2015
There are a great number of issues currently facing New York State and its residents. Chief among them is the need for ethics reform. We must address this troubling matter before we can move forward with anything else. I have joined with fellow members of the Assembly Minority Conference to support the Public Officers Accountability Act, and I also sponsor the constitutional amendment that will remove pension and retirement benefits from persons convicted of certain felonies. It has taken a while, but it seems our ducks are finally in a row to pass meaningful ethics reform legislation.
