Assemblymember Wallace Announces Funding to Support Sloan Community Programs

$10,000 in state funding will support summer concert series

Assemblymember Monica Wallace (D-Lancaster) recently visited the Village of Sloan Summer Concert Series and announced that she has again secured $10,000 for community programs like the concert series. The August 22 show, which featured the Beatles tribute act, “Two of Us,” marked the end of the five-part concert series in the village’s Griffith Park.

“The Sloan Summer Concert Series is a beloved tradition that brings our community together on these warm, beautiful summer evenings,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “I’m glad I was able to secure funding to keep the show going and to support continued improvements in Griffith Park in the heart of Sloan. I’ll keep working to make Sloan an even better place to live and raise a family.”

"On behalf of the Village of Sloan, we want to extend our gratitude to Assemblymember Wallace for her ongoing support to our community,” said Village of Sloan Mayor Tom Ferrucci. “She has secured funding again this year so we may continue providing summer events and concerts in Griffith Park.Events in the Park are vital to our residents, promoting a sense of community and friendship while providing a safe environment for our families."

Assemblymember Wallace has prioritized securing resources to improve the Village of Sloan, including $15,000 in 2022 for the Sloan Summer Concert Series. She has secured funding to enhance Griffith Park with a new splash pad, new recreation courts, new sidewalks, and renovated bathrooms that are accessible for people with special needs. She has also secured over $100,000 to purchase equipment for the Sloan Fire Department, including new hoses, a thermal imaging device, a Jaws of Life tool, and equipment to extinguish electric vehicle fires.
