"Coming forward with allegations of sexual assault takes incredible courage, and anyone who does so deserves justice. Sadly, the four brave young women who came forward with sexual abuse allegations against Christopher Belter were denied the justice that they and all survivors deserve.

"Despite Belter being convicted of two felonies and two misdemeanors for sexually abusing four underage females, and despite him blatantly violating the terms of his interim probation, the judge refused to sentence Belter to a term of incarceration.

“This decision sends a terrible message that sexual assault is not taken seriously in our justice system and that perpetrators who have wealth and privilege will not be held accountable. This sentence is a travesty and a grave miscarriage of justice.”
