Assemblyman Sayegh: Governor Focuses on Protecting Our Children, Supporting Families

“Governor Hochul’s State of the State address prioritized critical measures to make New York one of the best places in the nation to have and raise a family. I am optimistic that during this year’s legislative session, we will make childcare more affordable, bolster protections for our kids online and strengthen the education system.

“Childcare is essential for working families, and I am determined to ensure quality, affordable care is more accessible in our community. I fully support legislation to bring true universal childcare statewide. All young New Yorkers also deserve the best possible education, and it remains my mission to support and properly fund local schools. I know we can create an even brighter future for the next generation of New Yorkers.

“Safeguarding our children’s mental health and protecting them from bad actors and harmful AI chatbots online is another top priority for me. Technology evolves quickly, and we must remain vigilant when new threats arise. That’s why I fully support initiatives to expand age verification, enhance privacy settings, give parents greater control and ensure that the latest technologies are safe for our kids.

“I am excited to work with the governor and my legislative colleagues to pass meaningful legislation and a state budget that benefits all New Yorkers. I will continue to be a strong voice in Albany and do everything I can to help our families flourish.”
