Black History Month, Wadsworth Labs, Net Neutrality Update

Update on Wadsworth Health Labs. My work continues from last year in advocating the proposed consolidated health labs, including Wadsworth Center, remain in Albany. I’m anxiously awaiting the release of a Department of Health Report detailing potential locations and will send continued updates as this plan develops.
Rockefeller Institute Commentary on my Net Neutrality Legislation. The Rockefeller Institute of Government published my commentary explaining the need for states to take action on net neutrality. The Governor last week signed an executive order preventing state contracts from going to ISPs that do not comply with net neutrality principles, however, passing my legislation, in addition to giving the order the force of law, would expand the rule to municipalities, school districts, and libraries. This move would compound the power of the purse and further pressure ISPs doing business in New York to comply with net neutrality.
