Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay Secures $100,000 Grant for Town of Fallsburg Police
Fallsburg, NY – Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay (D-Rock Hill) announced today that the Town of Fallsburg Police Department has been awarded a $100,000 grant for upgrades to make officers safer and their work more efficient. The funding will modernize the department’s facilities and help meet the demands of a growing community by funding new personnel lockers, filing shelves, and pass-through evidence lockers.
“Public safety relies on the behind-the-scenes systems that allow our officers to do their jobs well,” said Assembly Member Kay. “This investment will help the Fallsburg Police Department keep evidence secure, maintain high professional standards, and provide a safe, functional workspace for the men and women who put their lives on the line every day for our community.”
Fallsburg Police Chief Brendan Pavese welcomed the investment, noting that it comes at a critical time for the department.
“These upgrades will make an enormous difference in the daily work of our officers,” said Chief Pavese. “Better storage systems and secure evidence handling help us work to the highest standard so we can continue to serve Fallsburg residents well. We are deeply grateful to Assembly Member Kay for her leadership and support.”
The grant reflects ongoing efforts by Assembly Member Kay to strengthen local law enforcement and community safety across Sullivan and Orange counties. Most recently, she secured $20,000 in Byrne grant funding, split equally between the Town of Fallsburg and City of Middletown police departments. Earlier this year, she also helped improve the benefits structure in Orange County to protect experienced officers who want to continue to serve after becoming eligible for retirement. Her office remains in ongoing conversation with local law enforcement leaders, working together to identify needs and find solutions to the most pressing challenges facing Middletown residents.
