Palmesano: October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Schedule Your Mammogram Today
Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) is sending a friendly reminder to women throughout the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes that October is breast cancer awareness month. In doing so, Palmesano is joining with the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program in their breast cancer awareness campaign to promote the importance of mammograms and urge women to schedule their mammogram appointment today.
“With breast cancer awareness month just around the corner, I would like to remind every woman to schedule her mammogram appointment,” said Palmesano. “This simple procedure saves lives every day and is well worth it to ensure your health.”

The hotline has been operating in New York since 1980 and is a project of the Adelphi University School of Social Work on Long Island.
