Smullen Encourages Students to Participate in 2025 Donate Life Month Student Art Contest
Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) is encouraging elementary, middle and high school students attending public and private schools throughout New York state to participate in the 2025 Donate Life Month Student Art Contest in celebration of Donate Life Month in April. This year’s art contest submission deadline is Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, and winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Albany.
“The New York State Donate Life program is incredibly important to me and my family,” said Smullen. “My wife Megan and I lost our son, AJ, in March of 2024. AJ courageously gave the ultimate gift by participating in this life-saving program and donating to five families in need. In honor of AJ and others who have participated in organ and tissue donation, I encourage all our New York students to share their perspectives on donation and transplantation through their art to help promote incredible programs like Donate Life that save lives.
“I will continue to collaborate with my legislative colleagues to expand the New York State Donate Life program. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in this program, register to become a donor today. Together, we can make a difference and help save lives,” concluded Smullen.
