Smullen: Advocating for Hardworking Upstate New Yorkers this Legislative Session

A Statement from Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) in response to the start of the 2026-27 Legislative Session in Albany.

With a brand-new legislative session upon us, I am eager to bring new ideas to Albany to continue to improve public safety and affordability for all New Yorkers while also promoting rural equity statewide. Strengthening our state’s economy, supporting our farms and local businesses throughout rural New York, fighting back against flawed new energy policies and advocating for those committed to keeping us safe remain top priorities of mine.

“As your assemblyman for the 118th Assembly District, I am hopeful this legislative session will bring about the positive changes needed to help make the lives of every New Yorker better. I am excited to get started!”
