Smullen Hosts 18th Annual Venison for Veterans & Seniors for Fulton and Montgomery Counties

Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R, C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) joined volunteers at Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY. The program facilitates the donation of fall-harvested venison to veterans and seniors in the community. Smullen gave special thanks to Tom Georgia and Don Wicksell for helping bring together local leaders for a good cause.

This event brought thousands of pounds of sourced venison into the homes of local veterans with the help of hunters, volunteers and community members. Smullen made it clear this is an initiative that is essential for New York’s commitment to veterans and seniors.

“Our goal is to show our consistent care and gratitude for those who represent the principles and courage of our communities. The rally of our local leaders and volunteers to make donations of this magnitude possible goes to show how much we appreciate those who have represented this country and the service they have provided,” said Smullen.

Smullen also spoke to the importance of this donation cycle and said he hopes the number of involved community volunteers keeps growing alongside support for local veterans.

“The more assistance we gain from our community, the better service and attention are given to our local veterans,” said Smullen.
