Assemblywoman Clark and Assemblymember Meeks Partner with RochesterWorks and Monroe County to Host 5th Annual Youth Job Fair
Rochester, NY – Assemblywoman Sarah Clark (D-136) and Assemblymember Demond Meeks (D-136) partnered with RochesterWorks to host the 5th annual Youth Job fair today at East High School, bringing together young job seekers and employers from across the Rochester region for a day focused on opportunity, career exploration, and workforce development.
The event connected more than two dozen employers, community organizations, public agencies, and educational institutions with over 300 young people from throughout the Rochester area seeking employment opportunities, including full-time positions, part-time roles, internships, and summer jobs. Attendees had the opportunity to meet directly with hiring representatives, learn about available career pathways, ask questions about job readiness and application processes, and build valuable professional connections.
The annual job fair continues to serve as an important resource for local youth by helping bridge the gap between students, young adults, and employers actively looking to hire. In addition to immediate employment opportunities, participating organizations also provided information about career training programs, mentorship opportunities, public service careers, and long-term workforce development resources available throughout the community.
Participating organizations included Burlington Stores, Chick-fil-A, Home Depot, MCC Optics, Healthy Heroes Camp, Monroe County Civil Service & Board of Elections, NYS Police, Pathways, URMC, U of R Campus Safety, YMCA, and many others representing a wide range of industries and career fields. Together, these organizations helped expose attendees to opportunities in healthcare, retail, public service, skilled trades, education, recreation, law enforcement, and higher education.
Now in its fifth year, the Youth Job Fair reflects the continued commitment of Assemblywoman Clark, Assemblymember Meeks, Monroe County, and RochesterWorks to investing in Rochester’s young people and expanding access to meaningful employment opportunities that help build financial stability, workplace experience, and long-term career success.
Assemblywoman Sarah Clark said, “A first job can change the course of a young person’s life. It builds confidence, creates stability, and gives young people the chance to see what is possible for their future. Today’s Youth Job and Resource Fair is all about making this a reality for more people in our community. Connecting our youth with employers, mentors, and real opportunities is one meaningful step toward building independence, gaining experience, and charting a stronger future. Every year, I look forward to this event, seeing the smiles a job can bring to one youth while knowing the broader impact this will have across our entire community. “
Assemblymember Demond Meeks said, "We often talk about the challenges facing our youth, but the Youth Job & Resource Fair is a good opportunity and tangible solution. By bringing together organizations like RochesterWorks, the State Police, and URMC, we are showing our young adults that the community is invested in their success. It gives young people, ages 15 to 24, a direct connection to employers like Home Depot and McDonald's, ensuring they have something productive to do during the summer and beyond. Empowering our youth with jobs and resources is one of the most effective ways to foster a safer and more vibrant Rochester.”
Dave Seely, CEO of RochesterWorks said, “Now in its fifth year, the Youth Job & Resource Fair will once again provide Rochester and Monroe County teens and young adults with valuable opportunities to explore potential jobs, career pathways, and other resources that can help them get their start in the local workforce. RochesterWorks is proud to renew our partnership with our friends in local and state government, along with more than 30 area employers, all of whom contribute to making this event such a success.”
County Legislator Ricky Frazier said, “Happy to be supporting the 5th annual youth job fair along with my colleagues in government to provide jobs and resources to the youth and young adults in Rochester.”
