Bendett: Hochul’s State of The State is a Decent Start, But Will Her Plans Deliver?

A Statement for Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) in response to Gov. Hochul’s State of the State Address on Jan. 9, 2024.

“While Gov. Hochul is on the right track with certain plans of action, we need to fill in the gaps and consider the fine details. Directing necessary spending for education, health care and small business support needs to be well-thought-out and region-specific for instance, while larger-scale plans like housing and criminal justice reform need to be fine-tuned to the smallest details to ensure the overall impact is beneficial and effective. More than anything, New York families are looking for a state plan and budget that will deliver safety and affordability—time will tell whether Gov. Hochul’s plans deliver both.”
