Bendett Reflects on Governor’s Address: ‘We Need Leaders Who Will Walk The Walk’
A legislative statement from Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) following the governor's State of the State Address.
“New Yorkers are being crushed by the highest taxes in the nation, yet working families are abandoned, thousands remain unemployed and we’re ranked No. 1 for outmigration. People are fleeing because of failed leadership and hollow promises. An affordability crisis won’t be solved with a rebate check or reckless spending. We need real solutions—not giveaways.
Public safety is another broken promise. You can’t claim to support public safety while defending bail reform or call the subway safe when someone is burned alive. And you can’t say you’re addressing the migrant crisis while clinging to sanctuary city policies that invite chaos.
It’s time for common-sense solutions to the issues New Yorkers care about most. No more empty words—New Yorkers deserve leaders who will walk the walk.”
