Senator Felder and Assemblyman Eichenstein to Small Business Owners: Apply NOW for Recovery Grant Program

Applications are now open for up to $50,000 in grants available to small businesses as well as small for-profit independent art and cultural organizations in the State of New York.

The $800 million Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program, which was included in the budget passed by the State Legislature, will reimburse New York small businesses with grants of $5,000 to $50,000 for Covid-related losses or expenses incurred between March of 2020 and April of 2021.

Reimbursable expenses may include payroll costs, commercial rent or mortgage payments, insurance costs, utility costs, costs of PPE, heating, ventilation and air conditioning costs, costs of machinery or equipment and costs of supplies and materials necessary to comply with Covid health and safety protocols.

“From the corner grocery store to the specialty boutique store,” said Senator Simcha Felder, “small businesses are under great financial strain. I hope that taking this step will empower small business owners to recover and come back stronger than ever to serve their neighborhoods and bolster our economy.”

“I urge small business owners who have suffered economically during the pandemic to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein. “This grant can offer significant relief to small business owners, helping them to stay afloat during these difficult and challenging times.”
