Assemblyman Colton Marches in Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade
As he does every year, Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) marched proudly in Brooklyn’s Columbus Day Parade.
The event, which is sponsored by the Federation of Italian American Organizations (FIAO), is held on 18th Avenue, beginning at 61st Street and ending at FIAO’s headquarters, Il Centro, at Benson Avenue.
“I was delighted to take part in this annual tradition, which showcases the significance and deep roots of Brooklyn’s Italian community,” said Assemblyman Colton. “It’s important to recognize each and every ethnic group which is part of this amazing borough, its past, its present and its future. Italian-Americans have made ongoing contributions that have had a lasting impact on Brooklyn, New York City and the United States. Congratulations to this year’s Grand Marshals, the Honorable David Carr, Dr. David Pretto, Joseph S. Rosato, Esq., and Chiara Spagnolo, and to the FIAO for sponsoring this festive occasion.”
