As he does every year, Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) marched proudly in Brooklyn’s Columbus Day Parade.

The event, which is sponsored by the Federation of Italian American Organizations (FIAO), is held on 18^th Avenue, beginning at 61^st Street and ending at FIAO’s headquarters, Il Centro, at Benson Avenue.

“I was delighted to take part in this annual tradition, which showcases the significance and deep roots of Brooklyn’s Italian community,” said Assemblyman Colton. “It’s important to recognize each and every ethnic group which is part of this amazing borough, its past, its present and its future. Italian-Americans have made ongoing contributions that have had a lasting impact on Brooklyn, New York City and the United States.
