Cleanup Advisory

Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) and City Councilmember Susan Zhuang (D— Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Gravesend, Dyker Heights, Boro Park and Sunset Park) will be holding a community cleanup on Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with participants meeting at 29 Bay 25th Street and fanning out from there.

This Saturday’s cleanup will be done in partnership with the Chinese American Social Services Center (CASS). Among the areas to be cleaned is the vicinity of Seth Low Park.

“These cleanups are successful because of community participation,” said Assemblyman Colton. “Every time we do one, I am delighted and heartened by the many people of all ages who join in because they understand the importance of giving their time and effort to help beautify the neighborhood they call home. These cleanups help enhance the quality of life for everyone, and help local businesses, which are the backbone of our community, thrive.”

“I believe that everyone deserves clean and safe streets. I urge our community to participate in community cleanups since it helps improve the community. That way we can strengthen the bonds that unite us and create a cleaner, safer environment for everyone,” said Councilmember Zhuang.

Assemblyman Colton has led community cleanups focusing on the area’s bustling business areas for over a decade, aided by Councilmember Zhuang, his then-chief-of-staff. The duo have sponsored cleanups along the neighborhood’s busy commercial strips through the summer and fall.
