ASSEMBLY SPEAKER SHELDON SILVER ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE ON ENERGY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ORAL TESTIMONY BY INVITATION ONLY |
SUBJECT: An investigation into the Consolidated Edison Company of New York Inc., relating to infrastructure inspection, maintenance and repair standards necessary to protect public safety. PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to examine the extent to which Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., provides adequate resources for the inspection, maintenance, repair and when required, upgrade of its energy transmission and distribution systems in order to ensure the safety of its customers and the residents of the City of New York. Recent events have brought into question whether Consolidated Edison Co., has allocated adequate resources necessary to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of its transmission and distribution infrastructure within the City of New York. This hearing will examine the adequacy of the resources allocated by Consolidated Edison Co., for the inspection, maintenance, operation, and repair or upgrade its energy transmission and distribution infrastructure and the extent to which those resources adequately address the specific energy reliability and safety requirements of the City of New York. |

Oral testimony will be accepted by invitation only and will be limited to 10 minutes' duration. Twenty copies of any prepared oral testimony should be submitted at the hearing registration desk.
