New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) Names Tom McKevitt As Conference Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore

Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) today announced that Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) has been appointed to the position of Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore. As Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore, he will be instrumental in the preparation of floor debates and provide critical support in managing floor activity for the Conference.

"I am pleased to announce Assemblyman Tom McKevitt as our new Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore," Leader Kolb said. "Tom is an experienced legislator who has represented our Conference and his constituents with dedication and distinction. There is a great deal of critical work ahead of us, and I am confident Tom will serve the Conference well in this important role."

Mr. McKevitt assumes the duties for Assemblywoman Jane Corwin (R,C,I-Clarence), who was appointed to Minority Leader Pro Tempore.

"It is a true honor to serve the people of New York and our Conference, and I am proud to continue the important work of creating jobs, reducing cumbersome tax burdens on New Yorkers, and facilitating a business-friendly environment that helps our communities," Assemblyman McKevitt said. "I thank Leader Kolb for this opportunity and look forward to getting started."

Mr. McKevitt has been a member of the Assembly since 2006, and serves on the following Assembly Committees: Codes; Consumer Affairs; Election Law; Judiciary; and Local Governments.
