New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb Hosts First Of Three Women's Forums

New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) (pictured, standing) speaks with women from the community at the first of three women's forums in the Finger Lakes Region on Tuesday, October 29 in Canandaigua. The events provide women in the Finger Lakes Region an opportunity to present insights on important issues impacting the area, offer their input on community needs, and hear about legislative activity in Albany.

"Having candid, thoughtful conversations about the priority issues facing women is a critical part of the process to devise and implement effective public policy. Too often, we see politically driven legislation become law, and important public input takes place only after the train has left the station," Leader Kolb said. "This was an informative and productive dialogue and I thank all today's attendees for taking time out of their schedules to be a part of it. I look forward to the upcoming forums around the Finger Lakes Region and to meet with more of our community leaders."

More than 50 women from business, education, government and other community sectors joined Leader Kolb at today's event held at Canandaigua's Inn on the Lake. This morning's forum touched on topics that included education, government regulation, public protection, tax relief and healthcare, among others. In addition to this morning's forum, Leader Kolb will host Women's Forums on October 30 in Victor and November 7 in Geneva.
