Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) and his colleagues today proudly welcomed four new members to the Minority Conference at a public swearing-in ceremony at the Legislative Office Building in Albany. The new legislators took their official oaths of office among family, friends, dignitaries and the media. The Hon. Kevin J. Engel, Town of East Greenbush presided over the event.

The new Members will bring extensive knowledge, skills and experience from their diverse backgrounds to the Assembly Chamber.

"It is an honor to welcome our newest Members to the Assembly Minority Conference. I have no doubt they will bring their expertise, hard work and passion for improving New York with them as we begin the 2015 session. Their constituents are fortunate to have such thoughtful representatives and I am certain they will do a remarkable job fighting for the hard-working families, small businesses and communities they represent," Leader Kolb said.

The four new Assembly Minority Members are:

• Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, 98th Assembly District
• Assemblyman Peter Lawrence, 134th Assembly District
• Assemblyman Dean Murray, 3rd Assembly District
• Assemblywoman Angela Wozniak, 143rd Assembly District

The new members expressed excitement at the opportunity to work toward making New York a better place to live, work and raise a family.

"It's truly an honor to serve the hardworking men and women of Orange and Rockland counties. I will strive every day to be the very best representative for all the residents of the 98th Assembly District," said Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, (R,C,I-Deerpark). "The prospect of working with such a distinguished group of New Yorkers is very exciting. I want to thank Leader Kolb and the entire Minority Conference for all of their help and I'm looking forward to my first term in the Assembly. My number one priority will always be making sure the people of the Hudson Valley come first."

"I'm eager to get to get to work in Albany," said Assemblyman Peter Lawrence (R,C,I-Greece). "I will be a staunch advocate for the hardworking families of the 134th District. By lowering taxes on small businesses and families and creating better-paying jobs, I know that we can move our middle class forward. I look forward to working with Leader Kolb and the Assembly Minority Conference to craft policies that will make New York a more affordable place to live and do business."

"It's truly an honor to be once again representing the 3rd Assembly District in Albany," said Dean Murray (R,C,I-East Patchogue). "I look forward to working with Leader Kolb and all of my Assembly Minority Conference colleagues on such important issues as education, growing our economy and enhancing the quality of life for all of our residents."

"It is an honor to represent the hardworking men and women of the 143rd Assembly District," said Assemblywoman Angela Wozniak (R,C,I-Cheektowaga). "I will work tirelessly every day to ensure that the residents of Cheektowaga and Lancaster receive honest, transparent and diligent representation. Residents throughout our community continue to struggle financially. I'm looking forward to bringing sound solutions to state government that have a positive impact for all. I want to thank Leader Kolb and the entire Assembly Minority Conference for all of their outstanding dedication, support and guidance in helping me win an important election."
