Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb On The Conviction Of Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver

"The jury has spoken - and quite loudly. Everyone in the State Capitol had better be listening.

Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has been found guilty of corruption charges. The Legislature and Governor have a duty to change the culture in which his criminal behavior was able to exist.

This year, the Assembly Minority Conference will once again be introducing reforms aimed at ridding the Capitol of corruption in government and limiting the accumulation and abuse of power that was so prevalent in this case. It is past time for Albany to wake up and change its ways."
