LEGISLATIVE ACTION

The Legislature reduces the Executive's proposed appropriations to this agency by $71,000,000 to $3,455,000. This action is taken because there is currently no State plan indicating how funds are to be expended. There is also no process at the federal level to approve state plans for federal funding. Without a defined plan approval process, there is no need for an appropriation at this time.

Legislative Reductions

  • The Legislature denies $3,000,000 in General Fund appropriations for federally mandated development of statewide voting registration database related to the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002.
  • The Legislature denies $3,000,000 in Special Revenue Fund - Federal appropriations for federally mandated development of statewide voting registration database related to HAVA.
  • The Legislature denies $65,000,000 in Special Revenue Fund - Federal appropriation to implement other provisions of HAVA.
