TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the education law, in relation to funds for teacher
resource and computer training centers

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Removes the cap on funds for teacher resources and computer training
centers for city school districts for the city of New York.

SUMMARY OF PROVISION:
Section 1: amends subdivision 8 of section 316 the Education Law, as it

ing the statutory language to remove the cap on the amount of funds
NewYork City public schools are eligible to receive.
Section 2: sets effective date

JUSTIFICATION:
The Teacher Resource and Computer Training Centers were established by
the Legislature in 1984 to provide teachers with professional develop-
meat services that would increase their general knowledge of current
educational materials and techniques to facilitate enhanced teacher
