        Introduced  by  Sen. JACKSON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to waiving  the
          central  business district toll for New York city sheriffs, undersher-
          iffs or deputy sheriffs acting in their official capacity

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows:
     3    2-a. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, no vehicle used by
     4  a  sheriff,  undersheriff  or  deputy  sheriff of New York city shall be
     5  charged a central business district toll if the vehicle is  used  by  an
     6  individual acting in their capacity as a sheriff, undersheriff or deputy
     7  sheriff of New York city at the time such individual's vehicle enters or
     8  remains in the central business district.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
