TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 676 of the laws of 1978, amending the town law
relating to payment in lieu of taxes for certain property in the town of
Hempstead, in relation to extending the expiration thereof
 
PURPOSE:
Extending a PILOT program for Lido Beach for two years.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Extends the payment in lieu of taxes for certain property in
the Town of Hempstead from June 2023 to June 2025.
Section 2: Provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This town law relating to payment in lieu of taxes for certain property
in the Town of Hempstead has been renewed every five years and is
currently due to expire in June 30, 2023. This will extend it to June
30, 2025.,

AN ACT to amend chapter 676 of the laws of 1978, amending the town law
relating to payment in lieu of taxes for certain property in the town
of Hempstead, in relation to extending the expiration thereof
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 676 of the laws of 1978, amending the
2 town law relating to payment in lieu of taxes for certain property in
3 the town of Hempstead, as amended by chapter 86 of the laws of 2018, is
4 amended to read as follows:
5 § 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1978 and shall be operative
6 only to and including June 30, [2023] 2025.
7 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
