       AN ACT to amend the New York city health and hospitals corporation  act,
         in  relation  to the appointment of chief executive officers at hospi-
         tals

         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

    1    Section 1. Section 4 of section 1 of chapter 1016 of the laws of 1969,
    2  enacting  the  New  York  city  health and hospitals corporation act, is
    3  amended by adding a new subdivision 12 to read as follows:
    4    12. THE CORPORATION SHALL ASSURE THE APPOINTMENT OF AN  ON-SITE  CHIEF
    5  EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT EACH HOSPITAL OPERATED BY THE CORPORATION.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
