TITLE OF BILL:  An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation
to regulating speed limits in the town of Ogden, county of Monroe

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Provides for the town of Ogden, Monroe county, to control the town speed
limits

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1. The first undesignated paragraph of section 1662-a of the
vehicle and traffic law is designated subdivision 1 and a new subdivi-
sion 2 is added.

JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation gives the town of Ogden the right to control the speed
limit within the town. By allowing the town to regulate the speed limit
within its borders, the aspect of vehicle transportation can be handled
on a local level which would allow the close relationship between local
government and the constituent to prevail.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.
