TITLE OF BILL:  An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation
to filing information with the accusatory instrument where the district
attorney does not charge a person with a hate crime when certain
offenses are committed against female victims

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: An act to amend the criminal procedure
.law, in relation to filing information with the accusatory instrument
where the district attorney does not charge a person with a hate crime
when certain offenses are committed against female victims,

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: The criminal procedure is amended by
adding a new section 100.60.

JUSTIFICATION:  There have been many reports of abuse against women in
the news lately. Rich or poor, famous or , unknown, domestic violence,
dating violence and random violence happen every day. We must ensure
that the people who are committing these violent acts are punished for
their atrocious crimes.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None

EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it
shall become law.
