  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to authorizing an occupancy tax in the village of Skaneateles; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To authorize the Village of Skaneateles (Onondaga County) to impose a hotel/motel occupancy tax up to five percent MMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Adds new section 1202-hhh to the tax law, which lays out the terms for the Village of Skaneateles to impose a hotel occupancy tax of no more than five percent. Section 2: Adds the effective date and will expire December 31, 2025   JUSTIFICATION: This bill is being introduced at the request of the Village of Skanea- teles, in order to provide the village an additional revenue source. A similar bill to this has been introduced for the. Town of Skaneateles, which carved out the village in order that the village will not be subject to a double five percent tax..   PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: none   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: none   EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately and be deemed repealed December 31, 2025.
